Rev. Deborah Leys is a Counsellor, Therapist and Supervisor with 11years experience in counselling people through mediation as well as divorce and beginning a new lifestyle. She has a practice here in Auckland.

Qualifications include Certificate in Psychotherapy (AUT.) Applied Certificate in Counselling. (HD&T) Deborah is also an Enrolled Nurse.

There are times in all our lives when we need someone else to turn to for advice, specific help, guidance or simply to share the load, this service is here to listen and help by working alongside your own inbuilt drive towards health and well-being.

What does Counselling and Therapy Offer?

I am not here to tell you how, or what you should think. One person’s solution or answer might not necessarily work for another

For virtually all problems there are no quick fixes. I don't pretend to offer quick fixes .

I am unable to counsel other people through you. I can counsel you and help you think about your own reactions to the situation, but I can't make your partner/family change (neither can you).
It would be unethical for me to counsel you if you were already receiving professional counselling from another source.

I promise:

To let you know that I have received your initial confidential form , so you can be assured that your personal and confidential information has not been lost.
To charge a reasonable fee for my counselling/support, so that you don't feel you are being treated unfairly by me.
To refer you if I feel that I can not offer the service you want.

Confidentiality Policy

Rev Deborah Leys is happy to promise that she will keep confidential anything that clients reveal to her. As a Counsellor and Therapist, she has an obligation to keep communications confidential. However, it is generally recognised that there is a limit to this confidentiality. She may be obliged to breach confidentiality if you reveal anything indicating that you are involved in harming yourself or someone else, especially a child, so that the appropriate authorities can be informed. This is a standard ethical code by MNZAC and the Anglican Diocese of Auckland Code of Ethics.
